Dear Residents & Businesses,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
PATROLS Officers have been carrying out patrols of the Longford areas on foot and in vehicles. We have been paying particular attention to locations that have recently experienced an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour, and our local green spaces. We have also been conducting plain clothes operations in local areas experiencing high levels of shoplifting and vehicle thefts.
ARRESTS This week, the team have made two arrests: We arrested a 33 year old male for a shop theft from a business on Windmilll Road. He was charged for the offence as well as a further 3 offences on the Henley ward. We then arrested a 36 year old male for two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, one incident had taken place on Spring Road. He was charged for both offences.
VEHICLE CRIME & BURGLARY We have had no reports of any burglaries in the Longford area this week. However, we have had a few incidents of theft from motor vehicle.
The first incident occurred on 22/02/2026 between 03:00 and 03:15am whereby a male has approached a parked vehicle and gained entry to the rear passenger door and has had taken a gold chain from within the vehicle before making off. This incident took place on Gayer Street. If you may have heard or seen anything, please contact us on 101 quoting 20/155914/26.
The second incident occurred on 24/02/2026 whereby two unknown persons have gained entry to a van which was parked in a hotel carpark and have stolen a number of tools from inside of the vehicle. This incident took place at Novotel on Wilsons Lane. If you may have heard or seen anything, please contact us on 101 quoting 20/158993/26.
The third incident occurred between 16:30 on 24/02/2026 and 11:00 on 25/02/2026 where a catalytic convertor has been stolen from a Toyota Prius on Tallants Road. If you heard or saw anything that may assist our enquiries, please contact us on 101 quoting 20/159328/26.

ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR We have seen a small spike in anti-social behaviour, particularly around Arena Retail Park. This week, we have stopped a large group of teenage girls who have been causing issues for the retailers over the last fortnight. We have issued 8 Banning Notices from the site which will be valid for 12 months and are in the process of doing multi-agency visits to the parents of the girls involved.
